GAR-LCIA Hackathon 2026 online

Global Arbitration Review

International arbitration may be harder for AI to disrupt than some areas of life – for a variety of reasons.  Still, we’re inviting you to have a go, or even just find some ways to make it better.

The task for teams is simple: using AI, address a challenge or create an opportunity relevant to the practice of international arbitration (including at least a filmed demo.)

You can be as bold or modest as you like.

But if you’re good, you might be at next year’s GAR Awards.

For more, see the Rules and FAQ.

Overturning Discretionary Trustee Decisions - Top Tips for Success - Learn Live online

MBL Seminars

Introduction

This new virtual classroom session will explore ways in which you can successfully challenge trustee decisions without necessarily going as far as seeking to remove them from office.

It is often supposed that a discretionary decision made by a trustee is difficult or sometimes even impossible to challenge.

However, as this session will show, there are many different approaches based on either technical flaws in the execution of trustee decisions, or substantive problems with the decision making process itself, that might allow a beneficiary to make an application to court to have the decision set aside or reconsidered.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Alternative ways to challenge trustee decisions
  • Technical challenges based upon:
    • Lack of consent
    • Failure to comply with formalities
    • ‘Excessive execution’
    • Time limits
  • Substantive challenges including:
    • Failure to take account of only relevant matters
    • Mistake or misapprehension

The Bar Show: Moo Court in person

Chicago Bar Association

The Chicago Bar Association presents “Moo Court.” In its 102nd annual year, the Chicago Bar Show continues to entertain lawyers and non-lawyers alike. We promise wackiness, fun, music, and more cowbell (less politics)!

Come enjoy the irreverent musical comedy revue in which Chicago-area lawyers (supported by a professional band, director, choreographer, sets, lights and projections) lampoon some of the most memorable events of the past year. Trust us lawyers when we say this show cannot be missed.

The Bar Show has been entertaining audiences since 1923 when a few Chicago Bar Association members decided to liven up an annual yuletide dinner. What started out as a single sketch has grown to an all out musical revue written and performed by some very talented members of Chicago’s legal community.
