Employer strategies for the new era of immigration enforcement

Jackson Lewis PC

Description

President Trump’s executive orders have reshaped immigration enforcement, with a major shift toward worksite crackdowns. While media attention often focuses on the border, ICE is ramping up I-9 audits, unannounced raids and stricter penalties for noncompliance. Employers may face surprise visits, subpoenas and even criminal investigations. At the same time, sponsoring visa workers has become harder due to changing policies, increased scrutiny and restrictions that shrink the legal workforce. Now more than ever, employers must have strong immigration compliance and visa strategies to navigate this rapidly evolving and high-risk environment.
