Pauline Kuipers, Partner, Bird & Bird

Pauline plays a leading role in Bird & Bird’s international ESG steering group and was closely involved with developing Bird & Bird’s ESG Navigator Tool and CSRD Scoping Compass. She has monitored and written extensively about the developments of ESG. With a substantive background and experience within EU law and competition law compliance, Pauline often encounters various broader regulatory affairs relating to the interface of sustainability and EU (competition) law. Her expertise in EU law combined with her experience in ESG matters enables her to provide relevant, comprehensive and precise advice on upcoming regulatory developments and how these may impact operations.

 

Carolin Saupe, Counsel, Bird & Bird

Caroling advises clients on all aspects of civil, commercial and distribution law, with a particular focus on the automotive sector. Her practice focuses on warranty and product liability cases, drafting and advising on complex commercial contracts and on all questions arising in the supply chain and on all aspects of distribution law. Carolin has valuable experience in sustainable supply chain compliance in Germany, advising clients on LkSG issues and other sustainability requirements at the EU level. She also co-edits the Bird & Bird German ESG Newsletter.

 

Alexandre Vuchot, Partner, Bird & Bird

With both French and English qualifications in commercial and corporate law, Alexandre has extensive experience of transactional matters. He is able to offer comprehensive advice on all aspects of general business law. Alexandre assists on commercial contracts covering distribution, franchise, sales, agency, cooperation and procurement arrangements, acting for suppliers and customers particularly in the retail, tech & comms, life sciences, as well as gaming, entertainment and sport sectors. Complementing his commercial expertise, he leads our initiatives to support entrepreneurs on ESG, using this experience to assist our clients in the implementation of their ESG initiatives.

 

Felix Schmidtke, Associate, Bird & Bird

Advising national and international companies on ESG related matters is a key aspect of Felix’s daily work. As co-leader of our German ESG team, he advises on supply chain compliance, including CSDDD and LkSG, as well as ESG product compliance and related regulatory requirements. Felix’s work focuses on advising companies in the automotive sector regarding product liability, warranty and general contract law issues. He also supports clients in drafting and reviewing complex commercial contracts as well as general terms and conditions. This covers the entire product lifecycle, from raw material extraction to disposal and recycling (e.g. electronics or batteries).

 

Sander Wagemakers, Associate, Bird & Bird

Sander advises on a wide range of regulatory matters and EU law, with an emphasis on sustainability, including ESG, Energy, and Environmental Law. Advising on regulatory matters in the Netherlands requires an in-depth knowledge of both EU law in general as well as on specific EU sector regulation, but also on the relevant areas of national law that are affected by it. Sander has advised on various ESG topics, including the CSRD, SUP-Directive, Deforestation Regulation, Packaging and Packaging Regulation, Green Claims, and the upcoming CSDDD.
